Kerrville Folk Festival

I have enjoyed this "family reunion of songwriters and friends" for more than 25 years. Find out about the current Festivals.

In 2001 and 2002, they did webcasts of the entire festival that you can view with Real Player. Each webcast is about one hour long. I've picked out a few of them and a favorite song or two in each one things to give you an introduction to what I like so much about the Festivals. The times listed in these files are the beginnings of the songs. Just start the webcast and then fast-forward to the indicated time.

To get the full experience, of course, listen to the whole webcast.

Specific suggestions:

  1. Small Potatoes
  2. Carolyn Hester
  3. Bill and Bonnie Hearne
  4. Steve Fromholz
  5. Allen Damron
  6. Thanks, celebrations, and other festival discussions
  7. Ending the Festival with Bobby Bridger singing "Heal in the Wisdom"

The list below includes artists I have particularly enjoyed (with webcasts during one of these years) and for which haven't gone through and found specific suggested songs to recommend. As I have more time, I'll probably add more specific suggestions for songs to listen to on these webcasts.

Here is a list of other performers that I have heard and particularly liked at the Kerrville Folk Festivals and who didn't play in the years that these webcasts were made.
